The Raven's Call

Server-side Valheim chronicle, live telemetry, and player ledger.

Platforms:Dedicated Server, Linux, Windows
Release:September 23, 2026

The Raven’s Call is a dedicated-server admin, analytics, and dynamic lore chronicle system for Valheim. It installs 100% server-side and, paired with its client companion Where The Crow Flies, records every player triumph, boss conquest, raid defense, and tragic demise into a unified persistent ledger.

Designed to power live web dashboards, Discord webhook broadcasts, and external bot automation (including BarrkBOT), The Raven’s Call captures real-time player data with zero performance footprint on connected players.

Key Features

🏛️ 100% Server-Side Architecture

Installs exclusively on your Valheim dedicated server (BepInEx/plugins/). No client installation is required for players to connect. Valheim resolves combat on whichever client owns the fight, not on the dedicated server itself, so full kill, death, damage, and progression tracking pairs this mod with the client companion, Where The Crow Flies — without it, players still show up with joins, leaves, biome discoveries, and playtime, and the world census still counts what they’ve built, but their kills, deaths, and crafting/harvest counters stay at zero.

📜 Dynamic Event Chronicle & Discord Webhooks

Automatically writes a living saga of your world:

  • Boss Slays & Milestones: Records first kills, raid events, and major progression markers.
  • Biomes & Exploration: Tracks first footfalls into dangerous biomes (Plains, Mistlands, Ashlands, Deep North).
  • Player Demises: Attributes each death to its actual cause — the attacking creature or boss by name, or burning, freezing, poison, spirit damage, drowning, or a fall — and narrates it as a randomized saga-style line (e.g. “Valhalla gains a warrior — Thorium was taken by falling”) to the Chronicle log and Discord.
  • Automated Webhooks: Broadcasts real-time events, server alerts, and chronicle entries directly to configured Discord channels.

🗺️ Real-Time Embedded Web Dashboard

Built-in lightweight HTTP server serving a single-page dashboard (theravenscall.html), embedded in the plugin DLL so a fresh install serves it with no separate file:

  • World Status: World name, current day, online player count, and a raid-active banner, with a live “updated Ns ago” connection indicator.
  • World Overview & Activity Feed: An all-time leaderboard sortable by kills, deaths, boss kills, and playtime; the server’s combined boss progress; the most recent deaths across every player; and a filterable recent-events feed — joins, leaves, deaths, boss kills, milestones, raids, titles, biome discoveries, and season starts/ends — newest first.
  • World Census: A live count of portals, beds, wards, ships, carts, chests, and crafting stations standing in the world — player-built vs. total for each — with a sortable Builders table and directories for portals, beds, and wards, refreshed on its own timer (CensusIntervalMinutes, 5 minutes by default).
  • Player Roster: One card per known player — online status, active title (players choose which earned title is shown, via /title), lifetime kills/deaths, playtime, last seen — sorted online-first.
  • Per-Player Detail: Six tabs per player — Combat, Death, Progression, Crafting, Build, and Raw — covering creature kills, boss kill credit, this-session damage dealt/taken/blocked, skills, biomes discovered, caught fish, and death history. Creature kills, boss kill credit, damage, fish, death history, stats and skills all come from the companion client mod, Where The Crow Flies; biome discovery and what a player has built are tracked by the server on its own.
  • Hosted Dashboards for Rented Servers: On a host with no reachable dashboard port (Nitrado, G-Portal, and similar), the server can push its state over HTTPS to a small receiver you deploy yourself from the mod’s hosting/netlify/ folder, and serve the same dashboard from a public URL. Disabled by default — leaving PushUrl empty keeps a server entirely local.

🤖 BarrkBOT Integration (BarrkBOT_data1.json)

Exports a structured JSON snapshot of every registered player — lifetime kills/deaths, combat stats, skills, titles, biomes discovered, death history, and playtime — for external community automation bots, alongside a static BarrkBOT_data2.json export of the game’s items, recipes, and buildables. /api/state on the built-in HTTP server serves the same player JSON as BarrkBOT_data1.json.

📡 Routed RPC Telemetry (RavensCall_CombatReport_V1, RavensCall_EventReport_V2)

Listens for owner-side telemetry broadcast by client companion mod Where The Crow Flies — creature kills (with separate rate-limited credit for boss kills), player deaths, damage dealt and taken, fish catches, building, crafting, harvesting, consumables, and full vanilla stat/skill snapshots — needed because these events fire on whichever client owns the zone a fight happens in, never on the dedicated server itself. A third channel, RavensCall_TitleReply_V1, answers a player’s /title requests directly.
